Öz

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, üniversite gençliğinde halk oyunları deneyiminin, somut olmayan kültürel mirasa (SOKÜM) yönelik tutumlar ve sosyal değerler üzerindeki etkisini çok yönlü olarak incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, ilişkisel tarama modelinde tasarlanan çalışmaya 305 üniversite öğrencisi gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Veri toplama sürecinde Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Gürel ve Çetin (2019) tarafından geliştirilen “Somut Olmayan Kültürel Miras Tutum Ölçeği” ve Bolat (2013) tarafından geliştirilen “Çok Boyutlu Sosyal Değerler Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları, gençlerin SOKÜM’e karşı genel olarak olumlu bir tutum sergilediğini ancak bu ilginin modern kent yaşamından uzaklaşan “doğa ve evren bilgisi” gibi alanlarda daha düşük olduğunu göstermiştir. Cinsiyet ve ekonomik durum gibi demografik değişkenlerin tutumlar üzerinde anlamlı bir etki yaratmadığı saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın en çarpıcı bulgusu, kültürel mirasa aktif katılımın dönüştürücü gücüdür. Aktif olarak halk oyunları oynamış ve kendini bu alana yakın hisseden gençlerin, SOKÜM’ün tüm alt boyutlarına yönelik istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde daha olumlu tutumlara sahip olduğu kanıtlanmıştır. Ayrıca bu deneyim, katılımcıların “aile değerleri” ve “geleneksel değerler” gibi boyutlarda da daha yüksek puanlar almasını sağlamıştır. Gençlerin değerler profili ise, geleneksel ve modern değerler arasında bir çatışmadan çok, pragmatik bir senteze işaret etmektedir. Bu bulgular, SOKÜM’ün korunması ve aktarılmasında pasif bilgi sunumundan ziyade, gençlere mirası bizzat deneyimleyebilecekleri katılımcı platformlar yaratmanın kritik önem taşıdığını ortaya koymaktadır.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive examination of the effect of folk-dance experience on attitudes towards intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and social values among university youth. Adopting a relational survey model, the research involved 305 volunteer university students. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the “Intangible Cultural Heritage Attitude Scale” developed by Gürel and Çetin (2019), and the “Multidimensional Social Values Scale” developed by Bolat (2013). Analysis of the results indicates that young people exhibit a generally positive attitude towards ICH, although interest is lower in areas such as “knowledge about nature and the universe,” which are distant from modern urban life. Demographic variables like gender and economic status were found to have no significant impact on attitudes. The study’s most striking finding is the transformative power of active participation in cultural heritage. It was proven that young people who have actively performed folk dances and feel a connection to the field possess statistically significantly more positive attitudes across all sub-dimensions of ICH. Furthermore, this experience led to higher scores in dimensions such as “family values” and “traditional values”. The value profile of the youth suggests a pragmatic synthesis of traditional and modern values, rather than a conflict. These findings reveal that for the safeguarding and transmission of ICH, creating participatory platforms where youth can personally experience heritage is of critical importance, rather than relying on passive information delivery.
