Manuscript submissions to the International Journal of Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences are processed through the system provided below. In order for the submission process to be completed, it is mandatory that all authors be registered in the system.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. In APA style, adhere to Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC).
  • In Comments for the Editor Section, author can provide the names and e-mail addresses of at least three potential referees to enable speedy handling of the manuscript (note that the editor retains the sole right to decide whether or not to use the people suggested).

Author Guidelines

In accordance with academic and professional protocols, IJOSS cannot accept an article if it is not the author’s original work, has been published before, or is currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The article must not contain any libellous or unlawful statements or in any way infringe the rights of others. All authors must declare they have read and agreed to the content of the submitted article.


Currently, IJOSS requires that all submissions are made in English or Turkish Language only.
